As a way to get to know Adam our Golfing Pro we asked him a few questions.  Adam’s answers give you a little insight into his golfing life and experience.

What are your greatest golfing achievements?

My greatest golfing achievement today is definitely my first win as a professional this year in Rosslare, Co Wexford. I shot 4 under par in very tricky weather conditions and won the tournament by two shots. I had played pretty well all year on the Irish Region PGA Circuit; managing to claim a few second place finishes but to finally get my first win was definitely my proudest and greatest achievement to date.

What is your favourite thing about teaching golf?

My favourite thing about teaching is the moment one of my students hits a shot that they are really happy with. The feeling of helping someone to improve is what really motivates me to teach, be it a complete beginner or an avid golfer. Helping people improve and get better is a great thing to be able to do. I definitely get a good feeling seeing people enjoy playing golf and when people are playing well they are generally enjoying it.

Who is the most famous person you have played against?

When I was 16 I played in the same tournament as Rory McIllroy, It was in Donegal and the weather was really tough. McIllroy won the tournament by a mile, he had great ability even back then.

I played in a British Senior Open Pro-am as an amateur when i was 16 as well. I played with a great left handed golfer called Bob Charles. He is from New Zealand and was around 70 at the time I was playing with him. It was a brilliant experience to learn from him.

There are also plenty of famous names that I compete against on a regular basis on the Irish Region. There are a number of ex-European tour players that play including Damien McGrane, who actually won a European Tour event in China. Other top golfers that I compete with include Simon Thornton, Brian McElhinney, David Higgins and Michael McGeady.

Do you have any funny golfing stories?

I actually don’t have a specific funny story that i can think of. Everyday that I head out onto the course is filled with fun and good craic. I definitely enjoy my golf and have a good laugh every time I go out.
